Use the automated features in your word processor to format your text. For example:
If you want to double space your document, use the built in line spacing tool. Do not use manual line breaks.
If you want to indent or center your text, use the built in tool for margins and centering. Do not use manual tabs or spaces.
| 2. |
If you are submitting graphics, they should not be embedded into your manuscript. Any images must be kept as a separate file. Click here for guidelines on how to submit your graphics.
| 3. |
Use the tagline "insert image here" in your manuscript to indicate precisely where you want the image to be placed within the text. Any captions for the image should directly follow the [insert image here] tagline.
| 4. |
Do not include headers or footers such as your name, document name or page number. This will be done by our designers when designing your book.
| 5. |
Use standard bullets if you need to bullet any part of your text. Do not use symbols to bullet your text.
| 6. |
Use only one space after punctuation (e.g., place only one space after a period).
| 7. |
Insert manual page breaks at the end of each chapter. Do not use section breaks.
| 8. |
If you are using quotations, use the "curly quotes." Do not use the 'straight quotes.'
| 9. |
Do not underline any of your text. Use italics or bolding instead.
| 10. |
Make sure your style for certain elements in the book is consistent. For example, the title, subtitle, chapter headings, author's name, etc., should be used and spelled the same way throughout the book.
